Arghhh. I guess the main reason that I haven't blogged for ages is that I just feel STRESSED. And it's not to do with uni at all. That seems to be the least of my worries. I just feel so guilty all the time! And that's making me feel slightly mad. And I haven't felt stressed for the longest time. The last time I felt so mood-swingish and depressed at sporadic moments was in NJ. Which was most of the time in NJ. Ahahaha. Anyway. I felt generally relaxed and happy for most of the holidays and somehow recently I'm having an anxiety attack. I just hate responsibility but I'll have to learn sooner or later, and I guess it's better to make it sooner. It's about PRIORITIES. And somehow realizing that I'm suddenly an ADULT and that brings a lot of excess baggage.

I'm getting rather sick of work where I'm usually collecting contact info out of fat books and entering it into databases. And the books seem to go on forever and ever. It's not difficult work at all. It's just really boring. And my eyesight is most definitely going haywire from staring at computer screens 24/7. My rather nice supervisor said to ask for extra, more interesting work if wanted to so we can learn as much as possible in our time here, but it's kind of hard when there's a ton of menial-no-one-wants-to-do-it-so-give-it-to-the-interns work to be done.

Spending all day at work always leaves me with little free time except to mooch around and watch American Idol 4, which has been rather depressing to watch ever since my fave contestant left out of the blue. Oh rubbish him. Ning is right. I was meant to feel upset by those evil producers. I should stop getting upset by such corporate controversy rubbish. And support other people! Go Constantine!

And I watched one episode of Chase, which I'm going to continue watching purely because Utt and Keagan Kang are really nice to look at. Wahahaha. So sue me. And Mediacorp wins!

I know that I've told several people but I shall say it again because it can never be said too many times! Go and buy Damien Rice's "O"/B-sides" [double CD, such a steal at a mere $21 something at Gramaphone!] (I went upstairs to ask my sis the exact price and she couldn't remember either. She was playing the Sims 2 University and was rather distracted by the fact that Jude Broke, a young adult Sim from one of our most prosperous families, raced off late to class in her swimsuit. Too many Outgoing personality points I suppose.). It is the ALBUM OF THE YEAR. I know it's only March. But it is a rare gem. So much raw emotion and intensity, and painfully honest. Wistfulness, then rage, then regret, then indifference, and then peace. It's an absolutely gorgerous record. It's so sad but it's so pretty you won't feel depressed after listening to it. Merely in awe. And I love the fact that there are no breaks between songs, so it sounds like one whole story. There's a common thread through all the songs. Full-circle. And hence the "O"! At least I think so. Anyway it needs to be listened to again and again. Because you discover something new every time you do.
There's this incredibly funny/morbid line from Wooden Horse, which, sadly, isn't on the album.

Your rode her like a wooden horse
A hundred, a hundred, a hundred times
You're not listening
I'm talking
If you don't wanna be here
Start walking
I'd eat your head
If I'm hungry
I'm hungry
I am

I've more or less made up my mind to go to SMU, but I might change my mind later. I know it's going to be extremely stressful both academically and socially and I wonder if I can make it through at all. But I just feel like it's the right place to go. I guess it will be good training. And I really want to go on exchange and SMU has a pretty high rate of that. I really want to go to Mexico but my mum said I was insane. Oh well. And my interview's next week already! I just pray I won't mess it up. If not it'll be NTU Biz for me.

It seems like most of my friends are going to NUS :( Huiling and Ming Yong for Engine, Wei Wei and Si Hui for A&SS. Baofei applied everywhere like me, and for Serene it's either NUS Econs or SMU with me! *Sigh* I don't really feel like starting a whole new chapter of schooling. I'll miss you all like anything okay? It just makes me sad that everyone's paths are so varied. And to Serene: keep it cool! Just do what you really want to do and not what people tell you you should be doing. And call me if you're still confused okay? I know I may not always say the right thing but I can give you my opinions.

Hmm my bro is coming back tomorrow. He's been jet-setting all over Europe between classes- first Barcelona, then Dublin and I heard he'll be hitting Germany next. So larr-ky. Wanderlust is setting in again. I can't wait for vacation!

It's Good Friday. So let us remember the real reason why we are all here! Be grateful, always.
Thank you, God.
I don't know what I'd be without you.

Beauty.
1. Saw a CJ guy on the way home after getting my A-level results. He was cute in an unconventional way. After he took his seat he pulled Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix out of a plastic bag, leaned on his elbow and began to read.
2. La Professor & La Fille Danse from Damien Rice's The B-sides.
3. I DIDN'T FAIL ECONS! Considering how I was doing the whole of last year, it is a near miracle. And I am very grateful for my results.

God is very very gracious. :)

It 's comforting to say that 'practice makes perfect'....
You are 'Gregg shorthand'. Originally designed to enable people to write faster, it is also very useful for writing things which one does not want other people to read, in as much that almost no one knows shorthand any more.
You know how important it is to do things efficiently and on time. You also value your privacy, and (unlike some people) you do not pretend to be friends with just everyone; that would be ridiculous. When you do make friends, you take them seriously, and faithfully keep what they confide in you to yourself.
Unfortunately, the work which you do (which is very important, of course) sometimes keeps you away from social activities, and you are often lonely. Your problem is that Gregg shorthand has been obsolete for a long time.

What obsolete skill are you?

Here I am, blogging at work. I am shrivelling up in the intense cold. Putting in eye drops and slathering on lip balm every couple of hours, I feel as though I am on holiday in a freezer on the other side of the planet. But I'm not. It's just that the management seems to think turning on the air-con at full blast, 24 hours, is something that everyone enjoys. No worries about premature wrinkling. Anyhow, it's all right. Only one and a half more months and I'm out of here.

Anyway, nothing much to say besides that Closer is a good show. It wasn't depressing, if you already know what to expect. I won't reveal too much lest a golden eagle climbs out of my hair and dares you to look at it. But it had a great script. And Natalie Portman is absolutely stunning. Damien Rice's beautiful The Blower's Daughter as Alice's theme song doesn't hurt either.

What else? Oh yes, Sean Penn is my new personal hero. Watch the Oscars and you'll know what I mean.
