Anyway that's just really lame.
Yesterday went shopping with Ning before having this dinner with Malaysian relatives. Almost bought this shirt but decided it was too Sat Night Fever. Ning bought a (ridiculously short) denim skirt that I'm never going to borrow. Ok it's not that bad, but I doubt I'll borrow it anyway. Haha. Then the dinner was huge... the Baked Alaska was cool :)
Have to go for GP in a few hours. I'm so sick of studying. Mel, I just want to be lying on Glenelg beach right now...

Elephant: Pseudo-artistic.
Shrek 2: Funny. But too much singing and dancing. (There's a reason why Disney stopped doing that ages ago.)
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind: Not bad. But I couldn't really appreciate it since I knew the ending before I watched the movie and that's pretty much the essence of the film.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azakaban: Finally. The only movie after Return of The King that I truly enjoyed. *SPOILERS AHEAD!* Not a scene had me bored, and that's an achievement for any movie. Seamless flow of story, slick transitions between scenes, non-stop and well-executed action sequences interleaved with personal touches and humour. Incredible music. At least they changed the themes compared to the 1st two movies! (Fantastic flute/piccolo solos, the choir, refreshing tunes that still hold true to the story.) I am definitely going to get the soundtrack! Soundtracks aside. There seems to have been some major architectual changes done at Hogwarts... but I suppose it looks better! Not to mention that there were some plot changes with the time turner, but it upped the cool quotient. Now how many would be able to modify AND improve on JK Rowling's story telling? PROPS to Alfonso Cuaron! (That is so Randy Jackson.) The "child" actors look and act even better too. :) It's going to turn into a sort of teen flick, at this rate. One of my friends said that Tom Felton has completely lost the essence of Draco Malfoy, but hell, he's still extremely fun to watch! Even if he is more jock than whiny brat. And yes, I do suppose that all the males in the audience sigh in unison whenever Emma Watson appears on screen. The Jamaican shrunken heads (with their cute accent), Prof Trelawney and Ron(as always) terrific too. Anyway, it's certainly a tremendous improvement from the (now relatively pathetic) Chamber of Secrets. Anyway great entertainment value! Quite a lot of people didn't like this one, because of the fact that it left a lot of things unexplained and the plot moved a bit too quickly, so I guess you have to have read the books to really enjoy it. Still. I think explaining was the bane of the first two movies. It really made the movies lose focus of what's important. Who really cares about the Dursleys, for instance? They're not going to anything to contribute to the plot anyway. There was a lot of omission of scenes (where's Wood?! Isn't it his final year?! ) but I guess one could grudgingly admit that the whole Quidditch tournament wasn't REALLY that important if the story had to be summarized. And I'm pretty sure that people like Cedric Diggory and Cho Chang will eventually turn up in the next movie. Then it'll really become a full-blown teen flick.

Such a happy song. It's so weird that Counting Crows does the theme song for the Shrek 2 soundtrack. Why does it seem that the songs that they actually play on radio are so... far off from the ones that they actually have on their albums? Like "Big Yellow Taxi" for instance. With Vanessa Carlton. A cover of the original Amy Grant version. Like, hello? Who actually listens to that? What's the point in remaking a song when Adam Duritz writes such beautiful lyrics on his own? Thankfully "Accidentally", albeit uncharacteristic, is pretty sweet.
Watched Eternal Sunshine today, at last. It's really artsy and the ending was sweet. Felt slightly befuddled though, a bit of a movie overload since I just watched Return of The King last night again. That still remains the top movie of all time. No question about that! There's a high element of "cool" (note the many scenes of Aragorn drawing his sword, wind blowing his hair, triumphing over everyone else, etc etc), and Miranda Otto is such a good actress. The sketches of all the main characters at the end when they're scrolling the credits is great too! So what if some of the lines are a little corny? And that it's superbly unfeasible? It's just great escapist entertainment!
Everyone's thinking of whether we should turn up at our grad night or not. I guess we should, shouldn't we? The last time that the whole batch gets together? (Unless you count collecting of A-level results, of course)
Had chem prac today. It wasn't too bad though I couldn't finish the design experiment. But I guess it's much better than the theory part of chem.
SATs tomorrow. Then I should really get down to studying for CTs. Hate this vicious cycle starting all over again. That's just the way it is.
