It's wonderful to meet up with old friends. It makes you realize that all through this rather tumultuous year, these are the ones that will stick with you for life.

Tagged from Wei Wei: Me, Myself and I

1. Currently I would love to visit Machu Picchu, the Amazon rainforest and Antarctica.
2. I could live off ba chor mee for the rest of my life, the more vinegar and lard, the better.
3. I love Classic Pooh.
4. Me and my siblings used to organize beauty contests for all our stuffed animals when we were kids. Now that I recall we made score sheets for each of ourselves, the judges, judging them on their face, fur, grooming, etc.
5. Talking too much about myself makes me feel queasy.

And now 5 more people I'm tagging to write 5 things about themselves:
1. Baofei
2. Mel
3. Jiaxuan
4. Valerie
5. Ming Yong

This is dreadful. I have insomnia again. It's been like this ever since the exams ended. Been playing minesweeper and having an amusing online conversation with Serene.

I love unexpected days that pop out of nowhere. I get highly irritable at people who never seem to be able to make concrete plans, but sometimes spur-of-the-moments are really what make life interesting, even if it does involve getting thrashed at Monopoly.

Anyhow, today is good. Meeting Wei, Mingyong and Baofei, the latter of whom I haven't seen for ages. And then Ning will be back! I can't wait.

I am getting so lazy at updating.

Camp was over on Monday, a true learning experience and opportunity for which I am extremely grateful. I'm glad the games and discussion went well. And the night walk where I had to sit in the dark in the middle of some jungle trail in Sentosa for four hours straight, with frogs croaking loudly in the waterfall behind, bats circling us non-stop, feeding mosquitoes and literally consulting my papers by moonlight. Maybe that's not such a big deal but I am a real frog in a well. Like how I was mystified by the number of stars in the sky outside a friend's house (there were about ten, and I had never seen so many) and got laughed at.

It's so dynamic, this lightstick analogy. How much everyone has developed it. You've been giving me so much light but I was too distracted by the branches, the uneven ground, the infinite darkness, consumed by my own fear, to notice. That I was wont to believe that there was no light at all. Or, rather, chose to ignore it.

Dear God, thank you for the challenges you give me. Please help me to embrace them rather than walk away.

Met up with the S13 girls on Tuesday, and I must say that I have missed them all dearly.

Snitched off Wei's blog, thanks babe. I miss the way we can talk freely about anything and everything. Hui Ling is so DARK now! Gone are your pasty days, girl, heh heh. And her uncanny ability to say ridiculously funny things. Like how Ming Yong's friend looked tribal. :D And I have found a new shopping partner in Ming Yong! Hooray for the giam people!

I will always be behind all of you, babes. And I want to tell you guys, I really do.

Sometimes, the sound of the phone ringing really irritates me and there is nothing I would rather do than take it off the hook.

Reading the Closer extracts on Wei Wei's blog makes me feel rather melancholic.

Do we really forgive due to the goodness of our hearts? Or simply because holding on to deeds done against us is all too draining?

Over the span of two days I saw three couples in public in which the guy was touching the girl's butt in a very obscene manner. Was deeply disturbed.

I was sitting on the train just now and realized, yet again, how I am living in my own little world and how lucky I am to have what I have. God's wake up call to stop taking my people, my circumstances, forgranted.

I'm going off for church camp tomorrow. Haven't packed. Hope all goes well.

It's a big world we live in.

God works in mysterious ways!

You are completely annoying, but your fresh perspective was exactly what I needed. Thanks for being there for me, friend.

And so it officially ends, my first term at SMU. :D Yaaay. I was losing track of the difference between weekdays and weekends in the weeks building up to the end, 7 day weeks, including going to school every Sunday without batting an eyelid. How Helene and I wandered into Kopitiam one day and were wondering why it was so crowded and then we were like oh ya, it's Sunday! And at Delifrance there were families dressed in their Sunday best and we were in our rags blearily wondering what the hell we were doing together on such a day. And they're playing Christmas carols and the lights are up and you're attempting valiantly to stuff more information into your uncooperative brain. It was kind of sick.

And for now, the Christmas lights are friendly again. I was at the exact spot where the mirror tree was last year and it seems like just yesterday Ning and Mel and I were there. I can't believe it's been a whole friggin' year! And Ning isn't coming back for another 16 days and Mel isn't coming back at all. I am going to ROT. Bah.

Anyway we were supposed to go to Wala Wala yesterday but in the end our lazy selves winded up at Starbucks. I think it's pretty sad that this is the first time that we have engaged in non-academic related activities together despite living in town. Drinking ice-blended in the freezing rain was good fun. My goodness. We chatted till one before the others went to Helen's to stay over. We were laughing non-stop. I think we're all a little deranged after the exams. I am grateful for these girls ;) [Especially Alaska and Zhiying, who patiently bore the brunt of my moodiness during the exam period. I never used to be like that. Anyhow you guys are the best.] Though we realize that we're eventually going to be stuck with each other for the rest of our years in SMU and are never going to meet the future husbands and stuff.

I used to be able to stay at home and never get sick of it. Now I'm bored out of my mind after one day. I have to start clearing my CIP and whatnot. And find something constructive to do with my time.

I'm going to a Victoria's Secret warehouse sale with my mum now. HAHA.
